Beth Rutherford

I first started playing basketball aged 10 at All Saints ‘Hot Shots’ session every Thursday. I then progressed to the Sheffield Hatters U14 team, stayed moving through the age groups until U18 and represented Yorkshire along the way. In 2017 I went to the University of Sheffield and began playing for the BUCS team there until I graduated in 2021 and I received a black and gold award in my final year for dedication to university sport. I started with the Arrows following leaving university and have been here ever since. I also coach a basketball team ‘Lynx’ in the Special Olympics for individuals with learning disabilities which I find lots of fun! Away from basketball, I love anything outdoors from climbing mountains to wild swims - you’ll find me there!

Best thing about the arrows:
My teammates! It’s so lovely to play with such a wonderful bunch who are always supportive both on and off court! There’s such a friendly atmosphere at the club that makes it special.
