Ashante Richards

Basketball has always been apart of my life, with family members playing and coaching. I started playing aged 9 at Mansfield Giants and over the years I represented East Midlands, Yorkshire, England and Great Britain as a junior. In 2018 until 2020, I went to Charnwood Academy playing both at the elite academy level, national league u18s and Loughborough Riders division 1 as well as training with the Leicester Riders WBBL team. Now, as well as playing for the Arrows, I play for Sheffield Hallam University alongside studying and coach an u16 girls in Mansfield. Away from the court, I enjoy going to the gym, going out with friends and spending time with family.

Best thing about the Arrows:
Everyone is so friendly and supportive, if you need help someone is always there. Whenever we play games and you’re on the court, you feel the support coming from the bench and it pushes you to keep going!
